Advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning coupled with the availability of big data and massive data sharing initiatives allows for novel approaches for drug discovery. One of the areas of biomedicine that is commonly overlooked by the for-profit biopharmaceutical companies and investors is antibiotics. Here we would like to facilitate collaboration among the leading AI/ML scientists to collaborate on antiinfectives in order to initiate programs requiring long-term clinical development efforts as well as the rapid response to global pandemics and threats.
